DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special classical guitar masterclass at Baltimore School of Music featuring award-winning guitarist Penelope Shvarts. This inspiring event will take place on Saturday\, May 30 from 3:00–4:00 PM in our Francis Scott Key Room at Baltimore School of Music. \nThis masterclass is designed for our current guitar students and will offer a unique opportunity to perform and learn in a supportive\, collaborative setting. Performing students will be selected and recommended by their teacher\, and the event is free to all currently enrolled Baltimore School of Music students to attend as audience members. \nAbout the Artist\n\nPenelope Shvarts is a versatile young guitarist who has studied both classical and flamenco guitar since the age of five. She has trained with renowned teachers including Gohar Vardanyan\, Elysa and Jason Hochman\, and Grisha and Dmitry Goryachev\, and has participated in masterclasses with many of today’s leading artists such as Sharon Isbin\, Eliot Fisk\, Jason Vieaux\, Ana Vidovic\, and Meng Su. \nPenelope is currently pursuing her undergraduate degree in classical guitar performance at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University\, where she studies under Maestro Manuel Barrueco. She is an accomplished competitor\, earning First Prize at the UF Guitar Festival and Competition Open Division\, First Prize at the Southern Guitar Festival Professional Division\, and the Youth Prize at the Tino Andersen International Guitar Festival. \nBeyond performance\, Penelope is deeply committed to music education and community engagement. She has worked with organizations such as Notelove and Midori & Friends to promote access to free music education and currently serves as an Event Intern and Student Advisory Committee member for the Baltimore Classical Guitar Society. DESCRIPTION:Music lessons continue as usual during the summer\, but students have the option to submit a Summer Schedule to take off lessons in July and August without being charged. Simply mark the day(s) you will miss on the Summer Schedule form\, and we’ll prorate your tuition accordingly. \nStudents who do not submit a Summer Schedule will be scheduled and billed as normal. All Summer Schedules must be submitted by Sunday\, June 15\, 2025. We cannot accept schedules or changes after this deadline. \nSummer Schedules can be submitted through the “MyBSM” page from Monday\, May 12\, 2025\, at 2:00 pm through Sunday\, June 15\, 2025

DESCRIPTION:From Monday\, April 7 through Saturday\, April 12\, Baltimore School of Music will be collecting instrument donations to help provide local students with access to music education. If you have a gently used instrument that’s no longer in use\, this is a great opportunity to give it a second life in the hands of a student who needs it! \nWe are accepting the following instruments:🎼 Acoustic Guitars🎻 String Instruments – Violin\, Viola\, Cello🎷 Woodwinds – Flute\, Clarinet\, Oboe\, Saxophone\, Bassoon🎺 Brass Instruments – Trumpet\, Trombone\, French Horn\, Tuba\, Euphonium \nAll instruments must be in good condition and not in need of repair. \nDonated instruments will be given to our local partner organizations\, ensuring they go directly to students who will benefit from them. \nHow to Donate:\n📍 Drop-off Location: Baltimore School of Music📅 Donation Dates: Monday\, April 7-Saturday\, April 12⏰ Drop-off Times: During our regular business hours📞 Questions?
