Percussion Lessons for Kids & Teenagers
Learning drums and percussion is an exciting way for children and teenagers to develop confidence, coordination, concentration, and a lifelong appreciation for music. At Baltimore School of Music, our engaging, personalized lessons help young percussionists build strong musical skills while having fun and exploring rhythm.
Students begin with snare drum or drum set, developing proper technique, music-reading skills, rhythmic accuracy, and percussion rudiments. As they progress, students can explore additional instruments, including hand percussion, marimba, and vibraphone.
Our experienced instructors also support students participating in school bands and ensembles, helping them strengthen their technique, prepare challenging music, and build confidence as performers. Through individualized instruction, young percussionists develop a strong foundation for continued musical growth.
